The Milky Way

Catching the Milky Way was dope. It's crazy what you can see when you look up at the sky when you are far away from big cities. The reason we don't see the number of stars we you do in this photo is due to one main reason, light pollution. Light pollution is exactly what it sounds. Lights from big cities filled with cars, street lights, buildings, etc. light up the sky making it super hard to see stars. If you get far enough from a big city, you begin to see the sky completely flooded with stars. This was pretty amazing being able to see the Milky Way with the naked eye. It was really faint, looked almost as if it was just a cloud floating above. This shot was taken on a 25 second exposure, bringing out even the dimmest stars and of course the vibrant colors of the Milky Way.

Bonsai Rock

This was a spot that I have been wanting to shoot for a while now. It's a rock that sits out in Lake Tahoe with a couple of Bonsai trees growing from it. How the Bonsai's got there, I don't know but needless to say, it does make for an epic photo. This spot was a bit tricky to get to and if you do not know the exact location of it, it's very easy to miss. Good thing we got out there when the light was still out so we were able to spot it before it was too dark. It was definitely dope to to sit in front of this view as I waited for the sun to fully set.

This harbor was pretty tight. There were just a bunch of huge rocks scattered all over the place. It was like being a kid all over again thinking of how to get to the furthest rock out in the water. Scoping them out and plotting out which route to take and how I can jump from one rock to the other and which was the most efficient way. Unfortunately, I was unable to get to the last rock. It was pretty tough jumping around ice cold water holding my camera. Any slip or stumble would have been pretty bad for it.

Took a trip back up to Lake Tahoe today with some friends to go on a photo adventure. Like I have mentioned before, Lake Tahoe is such a beautiful  scenic place and it's huge so the places to go take photos is endless. I had to stop almost every 20 feet to take a couple of shots before moving on to the next 20 feet or so. There is still plenty of photos I have yet to finish touching up. It's currently 4:01AM and I am pretty whooped so here is the first set of photos from earlier today.

Cameras are able to capture views that, we as humans, can not see with our naked eyes.  This is one of the reasons why I am so into photography because there are so many things in this world that hold value but not everyone has the eye to appreciate or acknowledge them.

Sight
Marin Headlands

I've been wanting to shoot at this location for the longest. Couldn't have picked a better night to come out to San Francisco and do some night shooting. It was one of the clearest nights I have ever seen on the Marin side. There was literally no fog at all. The moon was high and bright and the stars were clearer than ever to see. I intended to stay over night to catch the morning fog but considering I had been awake for close to 20 hours, I physically just could not do it. What a shame, the morning was slowly creeping in as you can see in the back. I will be back, count on that.

Hit the streets of San Francisco last night for the first time in a very long time. Ain't nothing like the city here. There is always new shit popping up and happening here and it's got to be one of the main reasons why I love this city so much. It's constantly growing and innovating and bringing in cool shit.

Lake Tahoe has easily become our go-to getaway location since it's only a short drive up from Sacramento. I can't get enough of the fresh air and clear blue water. I lived in Bay Area for a couple of years and even though there were always beaches that were anywhere from 5-30 minutes away from where I stayed, they were never as good.

Whenever I take photos of Elissa, I always try and capture the moment. I try my best to give her little to no time at all in getting ready for a photo.. I tend to just look at her and say, "Hold on. Don't move" and run to grab my camera and run back. Little does she know, I think she is most beautiful when she is comfortable.

After a morning of some yard work, we sat around deciding on what we should do for the rest of the day. We both ended up agreeing on taking a day trip to Lake Tahoe just to chill at the beach with some sandwiches and root beer. The weather and view (as you can see) was beautiful... Even though it started raining in the evening, it was still an awesome time.

It's always a pleasure being able to attend this show with Elissa and the rest of the Wekfest crew. Year after year I have gotten to witness this show, the company and Elissa's support continually grow and it is nothing less than awesome. The Bay Area show is always the craziest so we had expected a crazy turn out but this was beyond what we expected.

Photography
Sacramento CA

Haven't taken the camera out for a walk at night time for a while so I decided to make the effort to go hunt for some locations to shoot in Sacramento. It's pretty tough considering that there just is not much to take photos of but I'm a believer than you can create a beautiful shot out of anything and out of nothing.

I drive past this set of tracks almost every day and every time I pass by it, I always stop and stare down the tracks. It looks super dope how the tracks ramp up into sky, especially in the evening into the setting sun. Post sun sets are always dope times to shoot because of the beautiful vibrant colors you are able to capture from the sky.

I've been away from San Francisco for quite a while now so I definitely enjoyed our trip out there yesterday. It was nice to feel the brisk Bay Area weather, although it got a bit too brisk later in the night. Nonetheless, it was good times and good eats while I was out there.  Here some shots I took on my phone while going across the Bay Bridge. These shots were taken without even looking. I am impressed myself.

One thing I love about the location I live at is how close everything is. Took these shots while my fiance and I took a stroll around the block to get dinner. Only shitty part about it is that it is summer and summer in Sacramento is nothin to play with.
