Rainy Days

It decided to rain today out of left field. I guess it's a good thing? Considering all this talk about California's drought and such. Anyhow, made a pit stop to Jamba and the Chinese market on our way home.

Collecting Dust

Literally, it's been collecting dust. I've had this thing tucked away in my camera bag and I've forgotten all about it. Definitely going to be bringing this to Hawaii this weekend. Heard it's going to be raining a lot while we are out there so bringing the 5D2 or G16 might not be the best idea. This little trooper will do just fine and won't mind getting a little bit wet.

Mighty Killers

Mighty Killers is an art brand with a strong focus in clothing and accessories. Our goal is not to promote a lifestyle but to share the values of well crafted design in product, packaging, photography and graphics.  We are small brand because we understand the hardships of losing the details and creative control when going into a larger market by mass-producing. About 90% of our projects are created in-house. This way, we are able to be the most detail attentive with our time in our projects. We believe in quality and that is why we work with only experts in the craft.   --

Visit to Astro Studios

Got into San Francisco pretty early today to run some errands so it left me with plenty of time to just chill in the city which was much needed. I haven't been to San Francisco for a while to just chill and walk the streets, it's something that I hella miss doing. The weather and the vibe out there is just perfect. Anyways, I decided to catch up with the homie of Creative Session at Astro Studios. I always love to check out other peoples work space. It's always dope to see how people work and what works for them. A lot can be told about a person simply by looking at their desk.

IZ/MK Items Restock

So anyone who watched the SF - Seattle game, then you know how intense this game was. Sad to say that SF made a pretty bad play that costed them the game giving Seattle the bragging rights, obviously Sherman took advantage of that right. But we are now bringing back these 49ers inspired items back for another preorder-only restock to celebrate the great season as well as commemorating the very last season that the 49ers will ever play at the Candlestick Stadium.

Mantid the Praying Mantis

A couple months back as we were pulling out from our driveway, I had spotted a baby praying mantis chillin on top of the hood of my car. We were gone for a couple of hours and when we came back home, it was still just posted on my car so I thought it would be dope to keep it as a pet. Months later, she has gone through 3 molts (shedding of exterior skin), mated with another mantis we found and named Vito (which was eaten by Mantid after mating.. Cruel huh?), laid two ootheca (egg sacks) and still kicking hard. Mantis usually don't last through the winter because of the cold conditions so it's a good thing she's kept cozy inside our house. These things are amazing pets, very low maintenance and super awesome to watch. I watched her murk a Black Widow that was bigger than her when she was still a little tiny thing, beast.

Perspectives

Here are a couple more photos from a few days back. Finally got around to finishing them up and here they are. It was pretty dope to find these spots in Sacramento. It was pretty set in my head that there wasn't much to shoot here but after so long, I finally came around to going out and hunting for places that I always seem to pass by. This set is very vanishing point focused and those are always fun. We took a pretty late roam so the lighting was perfect. Sun was about to set so it resulted in a lot of harsh horizontal shadows. Superb.

Happy Birthday Kid

Here is the 3 year old Jayce. When he was just a tiny smart brave courageous cute caring little marbled headed boy.. Tomorrow, he will still be the smart brave courageous cute caring little marbled headed boy minus the tiny... He is turning 6 and boy has he really grown up to be such an awesome kid. We definitely have our moments that really test our patience as parents but I could not be more happy and proud of who he is, a kid with the biggest heart. Happy Birthday to my little man.

Searching Sacramento

This is the first time that I have went out to shoot this year. I've been living in Sacramento for almost 7 months now and I have yet to really go out and shoot in the area. Never really knew where to go, or really just too lazy to find new places which is a shame. Had some free time today so decided to head out and hunt some locations and totally found some dope spots.. A little sketchy, but nonetheless, dope spots. Here is just one of the photos that I had time to work on. Got a couple more but I will get to those later.

Coffee Shop Stop

We hit up a coffee shop today to get some work done. I guess it's nice to break away from my work station at home from time to time as priorities seem a bit different for some reason. I think it's because I know that I can't get down on the major projects while working at the coffee shop so I tend to get the little things out the way like catching up on emails and researching.

To the Snow We Go

The little man is turning 6 here in about a week. Wait... 6?! Crazy how time is flying by and watching this kid grow up too fast. Sometimes I feel like I don't really get to soak it in. His mother and I are pretty busy individuals who are trying to do all we can to create a better future for all of us so I will admit that time does pass me by but I am glad that he is such a responsible (except when it comes to cleaning up his clothes off the floor) and mature kid. We asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday. He just said, "I want to go to the snow." So to the snow we went.

One Shot to the Head

There's this super small taqueria in Lake Tahoe tucked away from the more touristy spots of the area that I discovered from our last trip up here. It was the first time I ever saw Cabeza on a menu and of course I had to try it. In case you did not know, cabeza is head and in this case, it was beef head. I ordered the Torta de Cabeza and I would have to say that this is one of the best tortas I have ever had but that is only because this is the only torta I have ever had. I am craving one of these right about now...

Evening Meeting

What you see here is my one of my partners Alvin, an iPhone, a Macbook Pro and two mason jars. One with a beautifully made thai iced tea, the other one is.. uh.. I honestly have no idea. It was some detox drink made wit a whole bunch of random stuff and it looked pretty gross but hey, I won't judge. ---- Since the move out to Sacramento, it's been a little tough communicating with people through emails and messages. There's a lot of showing involved so setting up these meetings from time to time when I am out in the Bay is mandatory. We got down a lot on the details of our upcoming reveal of our brand Mighty Killers, which has been something we have been working on for almost 2 years now. I am super juiced that things are finally coming along and proud to say that we are on the right path.
